ShabbyBabyBags opened 13 years ago when Owner, Karen Vaughn from Ardmore, Oklahoma, first began with purse designs of patchwork and various upholstery fabrics. One year after running across some scraps of tufted chenille she envisioned a shabby chic diaper bag, a baby shower gift for her niece, Emma.
Satisfied with her creation, she fashioned more and traveled local area craft and trade shows. The business expanded to other baby accessories, she now continues to customize baby designs one item at a time.

Currently in her eighth year of designing, she says she loves every minute, scrap and thread of it, making certain each bag will hold up through the tests of time, double, and sometimes triple stitching, the stressed areas of each bag.
Most of our items are constructed with new fabrics.
We sometimes use vintage chenilles and carefully examine
the items for wear and thread loss.
Each bag is made with solid coordinating cotton fabric for the lining and
can be layered with an optional -clear vinyl.
The bags have three (3) inside pockets
constructed with coordinating cotton fabric
and backed with a clear layer of vinyl.
More pockets can be added on opposite side as an option,
as well as vinyl lining for soak-proof /antibacterial resistance.

A clear layer of vinyl is also sewn on the bottom of each bag and
inside all of the pockets to protect from dirt and bacteria.
Velcro Header Instructions:
If you have purchased a bag from one of our retail stores,
one side of your bag may have a velcro strip and paper backing.
After embroidery is done:
1. Push lining in all four corners of bag to re-align the interior,
2. Peel velcro backing from top header, gently pressing flat against lining
(being careful not to let velcro touch any vinyl, until straight and smooth).
If you have a mishap, a dap of wd-40 on your finger, will help remove adhesive.
A stain/water repellent spray is used
to make each bag, soil and stain resistant.
Dry Cleaning is recommended!
The bags without fringe will wash on hand or gentle cycle in the washer.
The fringe does not wash well, so if you're unable to take
to the cleaners, soaking, then hand washing is recommended..
Soak in a tub of water using gentle soap (preferably liquid). Spot treat and hang
to dry. Iron on low setting using a press cloth and completely avoid touching the
vinyl areas. (An iron will melt the vinyl)
If you need to return an item/items please contact us within 7 days (we go by the confirmation receipt date which will be counted as the first day) of receipt of the product and we will give you instructions on how to return the package to us.
Shipping charges are non-refundable and it is the customer's responsibility to ship the package back to us. The item must be in its original condition including tags. A refund will be credited back to your account.
If you need to exchange an item/items please contact us within 7 days (we go by the confirmation receipt date which will be counted as the first day) of receipt of the product and we will give you instructions on how to return the package to us.

Many situations can arise once an order is placed. We have compiled our return policy to assist you in various circumstances in which a return may be requested.
Situations that qualify for full refunds:
If the designer/seller makes a mistake on the personalization or other information that has been specified by the customer.
Customers should return the merchandise to us. We will cover your cost in shipping once we received the package.
We will then either refund the money or redo the item at our expense.
This includes any merchandise errors that are our fault, such as a flaw in workmanship.
Please keep in mind that all computer monitors show different colors.
If you want to be sure of exact color,
you may request to be sent free fabric or trim swatches. See policy below for non-refundable items and re-stocking fees.
If customers fail to provide information on personalization or custom work,
we will not begin the item until we are able to contact the customer. If we are unable to contact the customer, their credit card will not be charged until communication is reached.
If the item never arrives:
The customer will receive a full refund, after enough time is allowed to trace the item and confirm delivery or non-delivery. All items will have either a tracking number if sent via UPS or FedEx. If it was sent priority mail there will be a delivery confirmation number, which will not trace until it reaches destination post office.
If the item arrives damaged:
The customer must save all packaging and contact us immediately. We will direct you in the proper procedure for receiving a refund, exchange or store credit. Keep in mind that you will have to prove to the insurance company that the item(s) were damaged in transit.
If the customer changes their mind :
such as re-spelling of a custom name embroidered on an item, we will possibly be able to rip the name and re-embroider for a charge of $28.
Please note, wipe cases are not returnable due to the glue.
If is is due to color not as expected:
See swatch policy above. We will make every effort to work with the customer to change what we can, where we can, if at all possible. If not possible, and the item has not been personalized or customized, we can re-stock the item for a $30 fee.You may also opt to exchange the item for something of equal value, less the $30 restocking fee.A credit may also be issued for future purchases, less the $ 30 restocking fee.

Situations That Do Not Qualify for a Full Refund:
Personalized & Customized items are never eligible for a refund unless the seller/designer made a mistake, as discussed above.
If the customer changes his or her mind after the item is finished but before it is shipped: We will refund the money less a $30 restocking fee as long as it has not been personalized.
If the customer changes his or her mind after the item is personalized but before it is shipped:
such as re-spelling of a custom name embroidered on an item, we will possibly be able to rip the name and re-embroider for a charge of $28. Customers will be responsible for shipping cost both ways.

- If the customer decides they want something different after the item has been shipped:
- No refund will be issued.
- We will offer an exchange, (unless personalized or customized),but shipping both ways will be covered by the customer.
- If customers decide they no longer want the merchandise after it has been shipped:
- No refund will be isued.
- The purchase is final due to the custom nature of our merchandise.
- If customers fail to pick up a package and it is returned to us:
No refund will be issued.
You may pay another shipping charge to have it reshipped.
You may request a store credit for future purchases.
If there are extenuating circumstances, such as death or serious illness, please contact us
